Gold Star Award for Kurt

Congratulations to our Gold Star award winner Kurt

Kurt has been attending ARC since 2019 and presents with a rare progressive condition that causes muscle stiffness, specifically in his lower limbs.

Kurt is a primary school music teacher, and in December 2023 he was required to complete CPR training for work. For the two months prior to his CPR training session, Kurt has been attending weekly back-to-back Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology sessions at ARC’s Hurstville clinic.

Kurt has worked extremely hard with his Physiotherapist, Cindy, practicing transfers from his wheelchair to the ground and working up to providing compressions for 2-minutes to pass the course.

Kurt also worked with his Exercise Physiologist, Ana, to improve his upper body and core strength to be able to perform CPR.

Kurt has now successfully completed his CPR training and has gained his certification. He now has exciting new goals to work towards in 2024.
