Vestibular Assessment & Rehabilitation

Dizziness, imbalance, vertigo, headaches, and migraines are common symptoms that may be linked to vestibular (inner ear) dysfunction or musculoskeletal conditions. The good news is that these symptoms often respond very well to assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation provided by a vestibular physiotherapist.

At ARC, our vestibular physiotherapists provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for a wide range of vestibular conditions, including:
  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV

  • Persistent Postural, Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)

  • Cervicogenic dizziness

  • Headaches & migraine

  • Balance impairments, falls, and reduced confidence with mobility

  • Vestibular hypofunction, including:

      • Vestibular neuritis
      • Labyrinthitis
      • Ménière’s disease
      • Acoustic neuroma
  • Central vestibular dysfunction associated with:

      • Concussion
      • Acquired brain injury
      • Stroke
      • Multiple sclerosis
      • Cerebellar disorders

Comprehensive Vestibular Assessment

Our vestibular service includes a detailed assessment supported by specialised technology, including video oculography, force platform testing, and other advanced diagnostic tools available within our clinic.

Following assessment, your vestibular physiotherapist will develop an individualised rehabilitation program tailored to your specific condition, symptoms, and goals. Treatment is designed to improve function, reduce symptoms, and minimise the risk of recurrence.

Concussion Management

ARC provides a dedicated multidisciplinary concussion service across our Artarmon and Hurstville clinics. Our vestibular physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and exercise physiologists work together to deliver evidence-based assessment and rehabilitation for concussion and persistent post-concussion symptoms. This collaborative approach ensures all aspects of recovery are addressed, helping patients return to work, study, sport, and everyday activities with confidence.

Balance Rehabilitation & Classes

For individuals experiencing longer-term balance difficulties, we offer rehabilitation in our fully equipped gym and access to balance-focused group exercise classes as part of our extensive group program. These classes can provide valuable ongoing support to improve balance, mobility, and confidence.

Referrals

We regularly receive referrals from Neurologists, ENT specialists, GPs, hospital emergency departments and other allied health professionals. However, a referral is not required to make an appointment.
