Gold Star Award for Eugene
Congratulations to our Gold Star award winner Eugene
Congratulations to Eugene who has achieved 3 of his arm function goals this week.
Eugene suffered a stroke in 2020 which affected his speech, right arm function and sensation. He has been attending Advance Rehab Centre regularly since February 2023 and recently has been seeing occupational therapy and physiotherapy 1 a week each. Eugene has been engaging in face to face sessions and practicing hard at his home program to improve his handwriting to make it legible, use a hammer, screwdriver, improve his sensory processing and be able to cut with scissors.

Eugene has improved his sensory identification of textures, digits, and grip from 10% accuracy to consistently over 70% in recent sessions. Eugene has returned to handiwork at home, effectively using a screwdriver and hammer to build a bin shelter. He has also improved his handwriting legibility when writing his name and has recently started cutting with scissors again.
Well done Eugene!!
