Gold Star Award for Billy
Congratulations to our Gold Star Award Winner Billy
This Gold Star recognises the outstanding achievements of Billy over the past four months.
Billy has made an extraordinary transformation. He began 2026 with 10 minutes of walking per day as his maximum level of exercise. In March, he became the highest-attending member of his local community gym, completing an exceptional 29 gym sessions in one month. This level of commitment and consistency is remarkable.

Billy has shown exceptional dedication to both:
- ✅ His home – PD Warrior exercise program, designed by his physiotherapist Sarah
- ✅ His gym-based strength and conditioning program, guided by Jason, Exercise Physiologist
At his most recent review session, Billy demonstrated significant improvements across all outcome measures, including:
- VO₂ max
- Lower limb strength and endurance
- Upper limb strength
- Lower limb endurance
- Grip strength
Each of these improvements reflects Billy’s diligence and effort outside of clinical sessions.
Billy consistently demonstrates a strong learning mindset. He actively engages with education, asks insightful questions, and absorbs new information effectively. He has now progressed to a point where he is self-directing much of his training.
Living with young-onset Parkinson’s disease, Billy remains focused on long-term goals that include:
- Returning to soccer
- Improving cardiovascular fitness
- Enhancing coordination and overall strength
Billy gives 100% effort in every session, and his consistency both in-clinic and at home has been central to his success. Without his commitment away from supervised sessions, these outcomes would not have been possible.
Billy’s team are extremely proud of the work he has put in and the progress he has made. This Gold Star celebrates not only what he has achieved so far, but the strong foundation he has built for future success. Well done Billy!
