Gold Star Award for Hazel

Congratulations to our Gold Star Award Winner Hazel

Hazel was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis type 2 in 2004. This impacted Hazel’s hearing, balance and mobility. Hazel has been engaging in weekly home therapy sessions since April and has noted a significant difference in her confidence.

Since joining weekly ARC home therapy sessions in April, Hazel has noticed a big boost in her confidence. She’s been committed to her home exercise program—focusing on balance, strength, and vestibular training—which has opened new doors in her independence.

🌟 Putting on her earrings and necklace independently
🌟 Climbing six flights of stairs with support
🌟 Walking confidently through a crowd of 7,000 people at an ice-skating show with her partner, Paul (pictured)

Hazel and Paul previously taught Tai Chi together, and her ultimate goal is to return to assisting in Tai Chi teaching—a dream we know she’s working steadily toward.
