Gold Star Award for Belinda
Congratulations to our Gold Star Award Winner Belinda
Belinda was diagnosed with MS in August of 2024 and began physiotherapy at ARC 10 days later (already a warrior!). She thought she had a trapped nerve in her neck causing left arm weakness and tingling. After a scan, they admitted her to hospital for more tests and was diagnosed with MS.

Belinda laid out some great goals such as improving her confidence with her balance whilst walking in the community, increasing her understanding of MS, return to running her own business, and to be able to walk 10k per day on a scout camp in January.
Since August, Belinda has been seeing physiotherapy and exercise physiology to work on her cardio and endurance, functional strength and her balance. After 8 weeks of intense work with us, and dealing with some complications along the way, she improved on her outcome measures significantly, especially in relation to her balance, and she felt subjectively much more confident with her balance during daily activities.

After this, Belinda has continued to progress and smash her goals out the park. She has improved her confidence score for walking outdoors from a 5/10 to an 8/10, she has returned to her previous working hours, has a much better understanding of how MS affects her and she walked 22,000 steps for 10 days on scout camp!!! I mean, Belinda is the definition of a star. Congratulations Belinda and we look forwards to seeing your continued progress!
