Gold Star Award for Caitlin

Congratulations to our Gold Star Award Winner Caitlin

Caitlin started at ARC in June 2023 and is seen by physiotherapy, exercise physiology and occupational therapy. She is diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma and presented with global left sided weakness in her upper and lower limbs after surgery.

She is incredibly hard working and resilient. She completed multiple intensive blocks of 3x a week of both physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Now, she has exercise physiology involved and continues to come to the clinic 3x a week. On top of this, Caitlin has been consistent with her home exercise program for each discipline every day outside of therapy. Her determination and consistency to her program alone is a huge accomplishment and we are so proud of how far she has come!

Caitlin’s physiotherapy goals are around being able to walk to catch public transport and returning to running. Caitlin started at ARC being barely confident with walking by herself without losing balance. Since starting therapy, she has started to run for the first time!! Caitlin started running with a gait belt and supported by a therapist in September 2023 in 9 secs 21 steps. Now, Caitlin has completely improved her running pattern and can run in 6 seconds and 12 steps. Amazing work Caitlin and a massive Congratulations!!
