Tho’s Inspiring Journey: Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Life

In 2017 Tho sustained a brain injury. Tho has shown remarkable resilience and determination in his recovery journey. Now, seven years later, he continues to make significant strides in both his mobility and social engagement. Tho has been working diligently at ARC and collaborating with external exercise physiologists to improve his walking ability, and his hard work is paying off.

One of Tho’s most noteworthy achievements this year was gaining the confidence to navigate the bustling halls of the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) on his own. This milestone was more than just a physical accomplishment; it symbolized his growing independence. After a well-deserved stroll, Tho treated himself to a delightful coffee and cake at the local German bakery. This was something he previously relied on the help of support workers to do.

Beyond his personal milestones, Tho is also actively involved in his community. He regularly attends social events and participates in weekend church retreats, often without the assistance of support workers. These experiences have enriched his life, allowing him to connect with others and build lasting friendships.
