Congratulations to our Gold Star Award Winner Charlotte

Charlotte had a stroke in October 2022 which resulted in hemiparesis on the right side of her body. Charlotte started working with OT at ARC in March 2023, when she had very minimal movement in her right arm and was reliant on wearing a sling at all times to manage subluxation.

This meant she had no functional use of her right arm. Charlotte’s goals were to remove her sling and re-gain non dominant arm use.

Since that time, Charlotte has been working hard in upper limb therapy to regain strength and movement in her right shoulder. She has engaged in 2x intensive blocks of upper limb therapy at Artarmon clinic, using the resources and technology to build her active range.

She has made huge gains toward her goals – she is now able to lift her affected arm and start practicing functional use again… including eating a banana! Well done Charlotte!
