Congratulations to our Gold Star Award Winner Claudia

Claudia, a healthy young woman, faced an unexpected and life-altering challenge when she woke up one morning unable to move her lower limbs. With no prior injuries and no understanding of what was happening, she was eventually diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)—a condition she had never heard of. But Claudia didn’t let fear or uncertainty hold her back

She arrived at ARC in a wheelchair, open-minded, curious, and ready to take charge of her recovery. With unwavering determination, she embraced every part of her rehabilitation journey—from learning about her condition to trying every “crazy” exercise her therapist threw her way. Her resilience, openness, and trust in the process have been nothing short of inspiring.

In just four weeks, Claudia has gone from being completely dependent on a wheelchair and her parents for mobility to driving herself, returning to work, and even
jogging again. Her next goal is to rebuild her strength and conditioning to return to her full, active lifestyle of workouts, work, and social outings.
