Gold Star – Imelda

ARC first met Imelda almost 2 years ago when she was able to return home after being in hospital for several months following a bleed in her brain. Due to her bleed Imelda was faced with weakness through the left side of her body as well as reduced sensation making many everyday activities extremely challenging.

Since first meeting Imelda she has been consistent and committed to her rehab and working towards her goals of improved balance and functional walking. Most recently Imelda has completed a block of Lexo training three times a week to really drive her independence and safety in walking and we are delighted to report she is now beginning to be able to walk in her home with the use of her walking stick without needing constant support of another person. This is a huge achievement and is certainly the result of many sessions of hard work driven by a strong motivation to have more independence.

Well done, Imelda, it truly has been an amazing effort from you and we are so pleased to see you making such great steps towards your goals. Your smile says it all!
