Gold Star – Paul
Paul fell of his bike and sustained a brain injury in February 2018, he first came to ARC in April 2021 and has been working with physio and exercise physiology.
Paul regularly engages in LEXO blocks of therapy working towards his goal of walking without an aid indoors and with a stick outdoors. This month Paul has been given a Gold Star award for his most recent LEXO block where he was able to walk consistently for 30 minutes without a break, and even set a new personal record of 38 minutes! ?♂️?

Since participating in his ARC sessions Paul’s endurance and cardiovascular fitness have significantly improved, meaning he now has more energy to participate in skilled walking activities. We’re proud to say that his ability to swing his left arm in time with his legs has also improved, along with his ability to walk more quickly in assistive mode. Paul is now no longer using a crutch but instead his walking stick and he is walking more confidently without an aid indoors! His new shoe purchase has also given his right foot more stability with less visible rolling out when he stands on it which makes his walking more efficient. Paul has even been able to return to driving!
It is always a pleasure working with him and listening to his choice of music!
We look forward to his next LEXO block where we will work on improving his ability to swing his right leg through.
