The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), provides an opportunity for people living with a disability/chronic condition and their families to receive funding and support to reach goals that will enable greater participation, build capacity and enable growing independence. It provides a wonderful opportunity for participants and their loved ones to seek support and direction but also have choice and control around what is a priority need for them and which provider to engage in helping them.

Advanced Rehab Centre is an NDIS Registered Provider and a multidisciplinary therapy practice. This means that you may want to receive multiple services from us, which can save time and money.

A common misconception is that a chronic diagnosis alone simply gets you accepted as a participant onto the scheme. The NDIS focus on everyday function rather than a diagnosis alone. So what does this mean?

Acceptance on to the scheme and subsequent funding decisions are based on how that condition affects your daily living and participation at home and in your everyday life. When applying, often this vital information is missed and unfortunately some applicants find themselves unsuccessful in their application onto the scheme.

A report by a community therapist can assist applicants to help generate a report that helps identify the link between your disability/condition and how it affects your day to day life. They can also assist you with goal setting that will help make a difference in your life. The report will also greatly influence the decision making by the NDIS around allocation of funds in appropriate categories.

The NDIS officers are often looking to community based therapists like Occupational therapists and Physiotherapists to provide the accurate information required in order to be considered for acceptance on the scheme.

If you or your loved one are looking to apply for NDIS funding or have been knocked back due to insufficient documentation, our Occupational Therapists can fully support and advocate your support needs with a very comprehensive assessment and report.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

Community based Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists play an important role in supporting people who have yet to be accepted as an NDIS participant or who already have an NDIS plan in place. These therapists can assess and facilitate people living with a disability to live up to their full potential and enhance independence with everyday activities. Some examples include identifying alternative strategies to help manage self-care, domestic tasks, meal preparation, community access and mobility or increasing function to live independently. The NDIS is supportive in funding the supports to needed to influence these key areas of everyday life.

Our therapy team here at ARC can complete clinic or home based client assessments and produce comprehensive reports for applicants applying to become a participant on the NDIS scheme. These comprehensive reports will help identify support needs necessary to make progress on goals and aspirations and prepare applicants to meet the access requirements required by the NDIA.

YOUR FIRST CHOICE

We started as a community based team over 12 years ago, so unlike other agencies, we are not new to this space. We have strong networks in disability, advocacy, support and care. Every one of our therapists is hand-picked and supported through a long established training and development program. For this reason we have become an employer of choice for rehab professionals. Most importantly for you, we have low staff turnover because our team love what they do. This means that you will likely start and stay with the same therapist.

Regardless of your condition or diagnosis, our years of experience can help you to live your best life possible. Since 2006 we have helped over 15,000 people and have now worked with hundreds of people funded through the NDIS.
