Everyone has a range of factors to think about when considering a new home and it becomes more complex when you are factoring in SDA approvals, available properties, equipment trials and approvals, support models, and customisations for your function.  We have devised specific service offerings that are funded through your NDIS plan to assist you.

We have supported over 600 people at various stages of their housing journey since 2017 and are happy to share the experiences we have gained.  Please click on our education link on this page to access our free webinar library.  We have held an online conference covering a multitude of topics that may assist you, talk to our therapists about what content is best suited to your scenario.

Specialist Disability Housing (SDA)

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a range of housing designed for NDIS participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. The SDA design standard for new builds is provided within four separate categories:

Improved Liveability
High Physical Support
Fully Accessibility

Our highly trained team works closely with the SDA Alliance of property SDA providers and can guide you towards the most suitable and innovative models. We are working at the forefront of housing model innovation and will focus on what is an ideal model for you – not what is simply available or what you can “fit into”.

Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL), separate from SDA, is paid personal supports to provide assistance or supervision with daily tasks, that may help you to build skills and become enabled in your own home.  This might include assistance with cooking meals, improving your productivity, or helping with personal care tasks.

Occupational therapists look at the barriers to your everyday function and prescribe adaptive devices, assistive technologies and the right balance of formal support to break down those barriers. At ARC we are well known for the degree of detail we assess to and report on for SIL plans.

Your situation is unique, and, in order to assist you to move in the right direction, the first step is to have an initial consultation.
