Liz was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) three years ago. FND is a neurological disorder characterised by wide ranging and diverse symptoms, such as weakness, paralysis, tremor, involuntary movement and fatigue. Involuntary movements and tremor impact on Liz’s ability to walk, climb stairs and perform her everyday activities, particularly cooking and manipulating cutlery to eat.
Liz has been working with ARC physiotherapist Lexie for six months. In that time, she has worked very hard, maintained motivation and made some fantastic gains in terms of her mobility, balance, and hand function. Liz is still working towards her long-term goals of travelling overseas (post-Covid!) and increasing her days at work.
Keep up the great work Liz – you are a star!
