In 2018, Ronnie had a stroke while he was playing soccer. Soccer was amongst one of his many hobbies, together with salsa dancing and DJing.
After the stroke, Ronnie had weakness through his right upper and lower body. The imbalance caused by weakness on the right side also meant that he had reduced power to push off one leg, important for many agile movements required to play soccer. For the last two months he has been working with ARC’s Exercise Physiology Team on improving his fitness, soccer footwork, lower limb strength and control and of course, those upper limb muscles!
Ronnie shows us that goals don’t age and no matter what set backs you have, you should still continue to kick goals (literally!).
Ronnie is back training with his social soccer team, dancing and trying to beat his Exercise Physiologists at arm wrestling.
Stay young, Ronnie!
