Today we want to celebrate Roger’s determination, hard work and unwavering smile! Roger started his journey with Advance Rehab Centre (ARC) in July 2019 after removal of a tumour in his cerebellum. At the initial assessment, Roger was observed to have poor balance, blurred vision and reduced coordination of the right side of his body.
Prior to last year, Roger was competing in Ironman events, holding records in ocean swimming, surfing daily and working full-time as a private equity fund manager and lecturer at Macquarie University.
Roger’s positive attitude and athletic background lead us to complete our intensive Stand, Walk, Run program with input from Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology and Allied Health Assistant. Roger puts 110% effort into every session and his exercise program at home.
Roger is fortunate to have an incredibly supportive wife, Elizabeth, who has gone above and beyond to help him. Roger’s four children have pitched in with helping at home, driving to appointments and using their hereditary athleticism to raise money for cancer research.
Roger, you are an incredible person and an inspiration to all of us that know you. Keep smiling; we are right here with you every step of the way. Have fun horse-riding next weekend!
