This is Jane!
Jane has Multiple Sclerosis and has been coming to ARC for rehabilitation services for many years. Recently, Jane noticed that her balance and balance confidence within the community were becoming lower and lower and she wanted to do something about it.
Jane has just completed 6 weeks of twice weekly Neurobalance classes with goals of reducing ‘near misses’, reducing reliance on her walking aid, improving balance during stepping and walking and improving her overall confidence in her balance in the community.
In just 12 sessions, Jane has improved significantly on all aspects of her balance! Not only has she improved her MiniBEST-Test score from 19/28 to 27/28, she has most importantly improved in her balance confidence. Jane reports having NO near misses in the last 6 weeks, not tripping over her feet under fatigue, being much more confident in the community and is much more likely to go out after her exercise classes – whereas before she used to be too tired or worried to go out!
We are so proud of Jane and the huge improvements she has made in such a short amount of time. Her results are testament to her hard work and commitment to her health.
