Rob has advanced Parkinson’s Disease and lives in his house in Sydney North Shore together with his wife Judy. Judy helps him with all of his daily tasks like going to the bathroom, getting dressed and preparing his meals as Rob has difficulties doing them on his own.
Rob has a Duodopa pump which continuously injects his Parkinson’s medication directly into his intestines as his stomach is very slow to process oral medication. This means he always has to wear the little pump on him. Most of the time, he wears it on a band hanging around his neck, however it often gets in the way or irritates him when he is exercising.
For that reason, Judy has designed and created a unique vest (see picture) so he can wear the pump on his back rather than around his neck. This is a very smart and comfortable solution so Rob can exercise unrestricted now.
Well done Judy and thank you for looking after Rob in such a patient and passionate way!
