Julie has been diagnosed with MS over 18 years ago. When Julie was initially assessed, she had had a number of falls and this prompted her to take action. It is important for Julie to optimise her physical function to the best it can be as she likes to keep busy and involve herself in various community projects.
She has been incredibly positive, motivated and dedicated to her exercise regime. She doesn’t give up easily, is determined and always open to face new challenges. She makes sure she also has fun along the way by inviting her husband for some healthy competitions such as seeing who can balance the longest.
Julie deserves this gold star award not only for her excellent exercise habits and her sheer determination but also on her accomplishments in improving her balance. Here is a photo of Julie balancing on a single leg, on foam, while bouncing a tennis ball. When Julie was first assessed she had difficulty balancing on one foot, even on solid ground for more than 5-10 seconds.
Thank you Julie for being so inspiring and congratulations!
