On April 15th we hosted an inspiring evening lecture with Myomo from the U.S, showcasing the MyoPro – a unique upper limb orthotic that senses a patient’s EMG signals. To date, this device has predominantly been used with stroke survivors and people with brachial plexus injury. Case studies were presented demonstrating remarkable improvements in functional outcomes.
In our opinion, what we liked about it was that any trace EMG activity could be amplified to create a more functional muscle activation. This means people wearing this device during the day are increasing their therapy dosage to optimise neuroplasticity and functional outcomes. The advances in technology and robotics are really exciting for the future of neuro rehab and optimising patients’ outcomes.
Watch this space, we loved it!
