Joy was diagnosed with Poliomyelitis at 23 years old, after serving in the Army in World War II. She was initially paralyzed from the neck down, then left with residual arm and leg weakness. Joy has not been able to climb stairs with-out pulling herself up using her arms for many years. Since she started coming to our circuit classes, Joy is now able to walk comfortably up stairs without using her hands for sup-port. Joy says her improvements are “better than winning the lottery!” Joy remains highly motivated and is thrilled with the improvements she has made. Well done Joy!
